Individual Psychotherapy
Research consistently shows that the relationship between a client and psychologist is the most significant driver of a client’s progress in treatment. My goal is to build a warm and affirming environment in which everyone feels welcome and valued. My clients appreciate my authenticity, collaborative style, and ability to clearly communicate even the most complex matters. I believe strongly in the importance of identifying clients’ strengths, cultivating hope, and adopting a solution-oriented mindset.
I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). CBT posits that the way we think significantly influences our mood and behavior. ACT emphasizes identification of your personal values and commitment to actions consistent with those values. I will teach you how to identify and change problematic patterns of thought and behavior to cope with negative emotions, clarify your values, and create a life you find meaningful.
My specific areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
anxiety disorders
mood disorders
procrastination
coping with neurodevelopmental or neurological disorders
managing stress in school and the workplace
